Some Great Long Course Swimming at West Coast Open

May 12, 2023

It was a great weekend of racing at the Richmond Rapids’ West Coast Open Long Course Invitational.  The Delta Sungod Swim Club brought over 50 athletes to attend the meet.  For the majority of the club it was their first opportunity to swim in a 50m pool all season and they did not disappoint.

The transition from Short Course (25m pool) swimming to Long Course (50m pool) can be tough for some swimmers.  They do not have the opportunity to generate speed off the walls as frequently as they are used to (being that there are half as many turns).  For those swimmers that can get into a great rhythm and hold it throughout the race, long course swimming can be a huge advantage.

Congratulations to Delta Sungod swimmers who achieved a top 10 placing this weekend:
