October swimmer of the month

November 2, 2023

October flew by! We had so many awesome team events and swim meets this month. When reflecting on the month of October it was a busy and successful month of training and racing. This month we recognize the accomplishments of our whole club... You guys showed up for a record breaking fun meet attendance, mini meets, pass meets, LMR meets.etc... The list goes on and on and that's what makes choosing a swimmer of the month so tricky.

The coaches are excited to announce.....

Swimmer of the month for October

Learn to compete: Jerry Wang

Jerry showed up to the first mini meet of the season ready to race! We were so impressed with the energy he brought to all his races. It was exciting to watch you swim!

Novice: Gino Wenxuan tang

Gino always puts in effort during practice and it paid off because he officially got his LMR time during our October fun meet.

Regional: Anushka Biswal

Anushka has shown alot of improvement over October, especially in her butterfly. She is constantly pushing herself to make changes and better herself every practice.

Junior Blue & White: Oliver Lee

This month’s swimmer of the month for Junior White and Blue goes to an athlete who has really taken to doing work.  During the month of September it was all about learning.  During the month of October it was about taking those learned skills, applying them into the work and then taking that work to the next level.  Oliver Lee had a phenomenal month.  He qualified his LMR time at the October Fun Meet with a new personal best of over 15 seconds, attended his first LMR meet at the Winskill Dolphin LMR swim meet, and has started to lead his lane in practice for many of the main sets of the workout.

Taking work to the next level is challenging, but it is an ability that athletes must have in swim club.  At the end of the day, the proof of one’s work is the improvement in time, technique and tactics when they race.

Congratulations Ollie, keep up the great work!

Senior White: Riya Kang

ongrats to Riya for getting swimmer of the month. Over the past 4 weeks she has shown great attitude and improvement. With all that hard work she was able to achieved her LMR time at the October Fun Meet. Cant wait to see what she does at the next LMR. Keep up the great work!

Senior Blue & Gold: Nora Kennich & Max Zha

Nora for her consistent effort and attendance in each and every practice.

Max, well for being Max. For his incredible work ethic and drive while going best times in the middle of practices. Leading the group by example.
