January 22 Development Meet Results & Thank You's

February 1, 2022

What a great morning of racing!  January 22nd was our first Development Meet in a really long time.  Since COVID we have had to separate gatherings of athletes in order to ensure safety and this morning's event allowed all our newest swimmers a chance to get together and race.

Swimmers had the opportunity to swim 4 races over the course of the meet; 100/200 IM, 50/100 Fr, 50 Back, 25/50 fly.

The swimmers all showcased their newest skills so well, with many swimmer competing in their very first 100 IM or 50 fly ever!  Congratulations to all our first time swim meet participants.  The coaching staff was so proud of everyone's efforts and their ferocious racing.

Great work Aaron Alby on achieving his 4:00.00 200 IM!  This allows him to compete at LMR level meets.  We will be seeing him race in Delta on March 12-13th.

**The Impr (+/-) column of the results indicates improvement from their recorded personal bests.  If the result indicates "--" it means this is their first time swimming it.

Thank you to all the parents who came out to help time, check vaccination records and organize parts of the event.  The swimmers and coaching staff appreciate all your hard work, and sleep sacrifice you make for our sport.  We cannot do it with out you!

Delta will be hosting an LMR level meet March 12-13th weekend.  We are hoping to have over 400 swimmers compete over the course of the weekend.  We are looking for volunteers and officials to help us out.  Stay tuned for event sign ups, volunteer signups and more officials' training.  We will be emailing details soon.

It's Championship Season these next few months and DSSC's athletes will be attending meets in Langley for LMR Champs, Vancouver for Coastal Divisional Championships, Victoria for Provincial Championships and Edmonton for Western Canadian Championships.  The staff and swimmers are pumped to get racing.
